cousins?

cotton, string-pieced crazy block quilt, c. 1975, Texas, 68 & 1/2" x 81 & 1/2"

I purchased this 1970s cotton crazy quilt three years ago from an eBay seller in Texas, and I realized it was strikingly similar in design to a quilt I bought just last week.

polyester string-pieced crazy block, c. 1970, Kansas, 75" x 95"

Both quilts have a lot of movement. The polyester quilt with the checks and solids is very bold and dramatic. The cotton quilt made of print fabrics has more of a glittery appearance. Same tribe, different family-- cousins? I love them both!
