Lulu Hears a Squirrel

Look how wide Lulu's eyes got when she heard the squirrel outside. She hunkered down, ready to pounce, and as she galloped toward the back door with her funny, hunched squirrel tail, I subverted her effort to climb the screen door...again. Afterwards, knowing she'd given it her best effort, she preened on the sofa.

  1. If she was crouched down that's her "jungle kitty" mode!

  2. Great photo sequence. Captures her real kitty nature.

  3. Lulu is such a riot. She keeps me entertained, and gives me extra incentive to keep things tidy around the house. Who knows what she'll get into next!

  5. Please tell Lulu you know someone in Louisiana who needs help with squirrels and that when the fog is dense on the West Coast, she could catch a few cat naps and nab a few squirrels here. I like people with a sense of purpose.

  6. Cats are so funny. Whenever they've been thwarted, caught out or told off they preen with this "I didn't really want to do that anyway. I really don't care" attitude.

  7. That look is the one our cats don when they hear the cabinet door open - the one where their food is kept.

  8. :-) So much for the glory of catching the prey and bringing it to her master! We ended up replacing our kitchen door that leads to the backyard with a full-light glass for our kittehs' viewing and "cackling" pleasure (they "cackle" when they observe the birds, chipmunks and, of course, squirrels hanging out in the backyard). That's a show it itself! :-D
