It's "Giving Tuesday" and I'm ready. Yesterday, I announced the release of the catalogue for my upcoming exhibition, "Kalakoa, Discovering the Hawaiian Scrap Quilt" -- and today, I'm giving away a copy. Just leave a comment, one comment per person please. Tomorrow I will announce the winner.
This catalogue and exhibition reveal an undocumented tradition of quilts, which look nothing like the quilts most people recognize as Hawaiian. There is no applique or echo quilting involved, but the connection with Hawaiian history and industry is clearly evident. The 40-page, full-color catalogue is available in softcover. For more information, click here.
I am so impressed with you books, and with your collection. If you are at the opening for No Girls Allowed, I will have the honour of meeting you.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work that you are doing!
Let me try this again- I would really love to receive this book because I love Hawaii and I love your books!

I *love* these so much! The colours are just amazing. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I can't wait to see your book! I think it's so important to document the lesser-known quilting traditions that don't fit our preconceived ideas of what quilts are or what quilts represent a region. So-called traditions are always changing and very dynamic, and it appears that these quilts fit that idea.
ReplyDeleteOf *course* I want to win :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a vibrant collection!
ReplyDeleteThis is so my type of quilting -would love to win this book.
ReplyDeleteI've been inspired so many times by quilts guy have rescued; I'm sure this is equally inspiring.

ReplyDeleteI told my husband to take a look at this book preview and think about giving it to me for Christmas. Why, you might ask? This is because my sweet cousin who now lives so far away in Hawaii sent me, for my birthday, a large package of Hawiian charm squares. All colors. All prints.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Hawaii but I'd love to win this book!
