Saga Goryu Ikebana at the Japanese Garden

Over the weekend I attended the Saga Goryu Ikebana exhibition at the Portland Japanese Garden. The annual Hana Matsuri event celebrates the fleeting beauty of the delicate cherry blossom and celebrates the birth of Buddha. Once again, it was a stunningly gorgeous exhibition. Here are some pictures. Enjoy!!

  1. As I think back to my childhood I remember that there always was at least one arrangement in the house all the time. This was not simple as we lived in Chicago and no materials were "bought", they all came from the yard. Looking at this set of pictures I remember the forced spring branches, the just so placement of two or three flowers. Not only a lovely presentation but special memories..... thank you.
