It's a sensational "Drunkard's Trail" quilt, c. 1960s, from Julie Silber and Jean Demeter of The Quilt Complex in Albion, California. I was sorry they couldn't bring it to Houston, but not too sorry. Someone surely would've grabbed it up, and I wouldn't have blamed them. Can't wait to see it in person.
yay, that's a fun one!
ReplyDeleteThat is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI've seen this done before, but not with the "path" so defined. Not sure if I like it or not to be honest, which is good - gives me something to ponder.
ReplyDeleteThis would be a great patter for a little boy's quilt. It could double as a car track!
ReplyDeleteFound this pattern ( cut from an old magazine) among some quilt books I bought at a rummage sale. It showed the middle piece being strip pieced.
ReplyDeleteI've heard this variation called "Snake Trail".
ReplyDeleteLove this idea..would make a great quilt for a little boy to play with cars on..thank you for sharing
