Quilts 2 by Roderick Kiracofe

Roderick Kiracofe is back with his second self-published book of quilts from the modern era, 1950 and forward. I've known he was working on it for a while, and was eagerly anticipating it. This time, the book includes some quilts from other collectors in addition to the brilliant quilts from Kiracofe's own collection. Quilts from the collections of Jasimine Moorhead, Colter Jacobsen, Allison Smith, and yours truly are included in the book.

Quilts 2 is packed with quirky dazzlers. Three quilts from my collection appear in the book, including the wool Nine-Patch Variation / Cross in the Window, c. 1940-1950; the Irregular Nine-Patch, c. 1970; and the 25-Patch Variation, c. 1960-1970.

I'm thrilled to be part of it. What Roderick Kiracofe is doing right now is very important. Recently he exhibited ten quilts at QuiltCon, "Modern Historical Quilts", and connected the dots between historic quilts of the modern era and the modern quilters. There's much more to these mid-century-forward quilts than meets the eye. It's the dawning of a new era.
