    1. No, I did not grow up with handmade quilts, but Mom could make one heck of an Irish Fisherman's Sweater.

    1. Those are called "Prairie Points" and they are folded triangles seamed into the edge. They really dance!

  8. Fabulous quilts, Bill. I can see that many are not quilted (or tied). Are they usually quilted? What kinds of polyester fabrics? Some look like they must be poly-cotton blends, which I certainly used when I started quilting because that was what was available.

  9. The colors are so vivid!! I like how a lot of the shapes/piecing is simple but the colors make them really fun.

  11. Thanks for sharing more of these beauties. The seventh one from the top is quite the crazy pieced sampler! I enjoyed your exhibit, lectures and tour at QuiltCon.

  12. Thanks for bringing these quilts into the light.
I enjoyed seeing a bit of your collection at QuiltCon & wanted to force upon you one of my button badges -- a Friendship Star I made using double knit scraps of my Mother & Grandmothers -- but when I saw you, you were always with the press.
    Keep up the beautiful work!
