a marathon...on to the next stage

I'm like this quilt: a little ragged, but holding together well
It would probably take well over four hours for me to run a marathon, but that's nothing compared to the marathon I'm running this year. I'm writing a book, a coffee table book about the New York Beauty collection, which includes approximately 70 textile objects, mostly quilts made between 1850 and present day. But that's not all-- I'm doing all the photography, as well. The book will be published by Quiltmania in France, and is due to the publishers in September.

I start with this...
...and finish with this...
Although I have been working on it during the last year, the month of May was really when I got into the marathon. I photographed all the quilts and tops, and edited the photos in Photoshop, it was approximately 400 hours of work, but I'm not done yet. This month, I'm writing descriptions of each quilt and top- two or three per day, or maybe more. I may be a little ragged, but I have my second wind.
