Tillamook County Quilt Trail

Tillamook, Oregon, home of the Tillamook Cheese Factory, has more than 4,000 residents and 40,000 cows. Tillamook is also home to the first west coast quilt trail. The Tillamook County Quilt Trail is a grass-roots community effort launched in 2009. The public art project includes local businesses and barns scattered around the countryside.

There are nearly 50 painted quilt blocks, some original designs by local artists, celebrating Tillamook and Oregon heritage. There is also a waiting list for 30 locations to be added to the trail.

Two maps are available at the Latimer Quilt and Textile Center. Maps include numbered locations, pictures of the block designs, and information about the locations and block designs.


I toured the quilt trail a couple weekends ago, and it was a lot of fun on a lazy Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed the search, and new discoveries were always just around the corner.
