More AAQI Quilts!

#11305, Flower Power by Gail Braeutigam, Murphysboro, Illinois
I can't wait for the next batch of Priority Quilts to arrive from the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative (AAQI). Last weekend, Tim Latimer posted something about his quilts being up for sale, so I went and bought one of those. It was made from scraps from a wonderful strip quilt he'd taken apart and redone, and I was one of his readers who suggested using the scraps for an AAQI quilt. A quilt with a story! I went back later in the day and picked out a few others, including "Flower Power" - #11305 (above).

#11206, Branching Out, by Tim Latimer, Lansing, Michigan
All but one of the quilts I'd bought previously are currently hanging at the Anne Amie Vineyards in Carlton, Oregon - just 15 of them. It's a small collection, but it will continue to grow. It's so easy to go on the AAQI web site and pick three or four quilts at a time. Kind of like eating popcorn, but way more satisfying.

#11475, Wild Gardens by Bunny Henningsen, The Dalles, Oregon
#6779, Collage 10, by Linda Rogers, Monson, Massachusetts
#7403, My First Quilt, Eliana Carlile, New Braunfels, Texas

#7410, Insomnia #1: Whiteout in the Window, by Deanne Quill, New Braunfels, Texas
These quilts will go nicely with the others, and they will eventually be part of a larger exhibit. I may display other groups of quilts at Anne Amie in the future, too. It was an easy exhibit to mount, and people are enjoying it! Fore more information about the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative, click here.
