Kapaia Stitchery, Kauai

This vibrant Hawaiian scrap quilt is coming soon from an eBay seller in Michigan. Along with the quilt, there was a copy of the receipt, documenting where the quilt originated.

It came from the Kapaia Stitchery, Kauai's largest and longest operating fabric and quilting shop. They make quilts for sale, some out of Hawaiian fabrics.

The eBay seller thought this quilt was made in the 1970s, but I think it's a little later. Perhaps the top is 1970s fabrics, but the back fabric looks more recent. Here are some detail photos.

I could be wrong, but that flannel print used as the backing makes me wonder. When I went to Hawaii, I found several unfinished tops at vintage shops, maybe this quilt is one of those, finished later. I'll have a much better idea when I see it in person, but if I can't figure it out, I can always contact the shop and see if they remember making it.
