Two 1970s quilts just arrived from an eBay seller in Clovis, New Mexico. Both are polyester, and both have bright colors and bold, geometric designs. The first is a Four-Patch with mostly pink sashing. It is 72" x 96" and includes some great fabrics. One of my favorites is a strawberry print, but I also love the textured polyester.
The second quilt is a Tumbling Blocks design. It is 80" x 88" and includes a great mix of plaids, prints and solids. The edge finish is unusual with its striped fabric randomly placed along three edges.
They make a nice pair, these two playful polyester quilts. The designs are traditional, but it's fun to see how they looked with the materials and methods of the period.
