Winner?


Last night, the Northwest Quilters had its annual swap meet, and this year there was an Ugly Quilt Contest.

I think you know where I'm going with this...


Yes, my entry won first place. This Calendar quilt top was made some time in the early to mid 1980s or later, and includes calendars from the 60s, 70s and 80s. My comment was, "It's so ugly, they couldn't finish it."


Even though I joked about how ugly it was, I'm not sure I really believed it. I was really stumped by the idea of an ugly quilt, so I grabbed something I felt others would think is ugly.

So I'm honored, I think. I received a beautiful yellow ribbon for first place, and some delicious white chocolate with blueberries. Many thanks to Liz Hinze, who did a wonderful job organizing the whole event. We had fun!
