Northwest Quilters Show, Thursday through Saturday!!

"Wild-Eyed Susans" 2013 - Flower Power Guild Challenge
The 39th annual Northwest Quilters Show will open tomorrow (Thursday) at the Portland Expo Center, and will continue through Saturday. This year I have three quilts in the show, and I made two of them! My guild challenge quilt for the Flower Power challenge is called "Wild-Eyed Susans" - and you can vote for it tomorrow and Friday if you like it.

"Center Star" 2013
"Center Star" is the second quilt I made for the show, and this is the first year quilts I've made are included in the show. Until this year, I'd only displayed antique and vintage quilts from my collection. Speaking of that, my first "New York Beauty" pieced quilt, c. 1850, received a Viewer's Choice blue ribbon way back in 2001, and is now part of the winner's showcase at this year's show. Don't miss it!!

The Northwest Quilters show will be open Thursday through Saturday, from 10AM to 5PM, at the Portland Expo Center. Admission is $6, children under 12 are free. For more information, click here.

    1. Thanks Beth! It'll be fun to see it hanging with the others. I've heard there were about a dozen guild challenge quilts, and I can't wait to see what everyone else did.

    1. Thank you! Both quilts were funny because there was nothing else in the show like either one. It was probably much easier to place the challenge quilt since they were all grouped together. The star ended up with a very random group of quilts, and the context was unexpectedly silly. I enjoyed that in a way, too.
