Clever Little Boo

Little Boo is very old but very clever. She has a hard time jumping, and sometimes needs more than one try to get up on the couch. The big mystery lately has been how she gets up on the bed, which is much higher than the couch. Finally, I caught her doing it. Didn't have a camera on hand, but here's how she does it.

I can understand her getting up on the ottoman. It's lower than the couch. The big leap from the ottoman from the bed is what surprised me. I caught her doing it the other day just as I was waking up. Imagine opening your eyes and seeing a cat flying toward you. Little Boo is probably 18 or 19 years old at this point. But I guess she's got a few big leaps left in her!

  1. What a precious cat. I had a white cat once named Boo. Now I have an elderly black cat who looks so much like your Boo and she is still doing great.

  2. I guess that proves the saying, "where there's a will there's a way.". Wish I could make that leap.

  4. Bill, you need to move that chair a little closer to the bed to make it easier for Boo! What a sweet cat.

  6. Go Boo! I'm with Dawn though...help the old cat out by nudging the chair over a bit!

  7. It's easier for Boo to make the horizontal leap. I like the idea of moving the chair/ottoman a little closer to make her environment more accessible. She needs soft places to snuggle and cushion her.

  9. Hooray for Boo!!! But yep, better move ottoman over for her or you could get her a set of carpeted pet stairs. <3

  10. I'll have to nudge it a little closer, but I've tried that in other situations and she got a little indignant thinking I was suggesting she needed assistance. So I'll be subtle about it... :)

  11. That's exactly what my three-legged cat Shorty does to get up on the bed. She takes a leap off the ottoman too! I've seen her jump from the bed to the quilt rack about 3-4 ft. away too. She may not be able to walk really well, but she can run, and she can fly!
