The two quilts from eBay have arrived, and this is what they look like. First is the eye-popping, 1970s Amish Tumbling Block Star, and it's just as great in person as it looks in the picture. I'm awaiting more information about the makers, and will include it with the quilt when it arrives. The other quilt is the one I've nicknamed "Fire on the Mountain" - but it's really a Nancy Cabot design called Modern Peony. Solids are difficult to date. I'm thinking 1970s because of the combination of colors, the fairly wide binding, and the presence of a name on the back, written in felt-tip pen. The name could have been added later, though. Wish I knew the maker! An original spin on this pattern, for sure.
