20th Century Quilts Lecture Tonight!

I'm excited! Tonight I'm doing a lecture for the Tualatin Valley Quilt Guild, and it's the first time I'm doing my 20th Century Quilts lecture. The guild was established in 2006 and they meet at the Sherwood Senior Center. I'm really happy that they wanted me to talk about 20th Century Quilts because I've become increasingly interested in the 20th century over the last few years.

When I first started collecting, about 23 years ago now, I was really only interested in quilts that were 100 years old or older. The 20th century got a lot more interesting the moment I walked into the Whitney back in 2002, and saw The Quilts of Gees Bend. The experience of seeing those quilts really expanded my idea about what a great quilt could be, and I started looking at a wide variety of quilts.

Stay tuned for pictures of the quilts tomorrow!
