It must be the most exciting book published in a long time. Absolutely beautiful
ReplyDeleteI'd love an entry point into the modern quilt movement. Thanks for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteOK I'm sold. I would love to win a copy, but am going to have to buy one - right now!
ReplyDeleteBeing in the UK mine still hasn't arrived (it's been on order since last year) the more I read on this blog hop the more impatient I become to actually sit down and read the book itself!!
ReplyDeleteWow. Great review. Would love to read it. Thanks...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful book I need to add to my collection - thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteLove Thomas Knauer's creations. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting! Thanks for posting images of some of Thomas Knauer's quilts. I am sure it is not the last of him we hear!
ReplyDeleteGreat review. Sounds like a wonderful book. Thank you for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteMy copy will be here tomorrow (can't wait!) but I would love to win a second so I can gift my best quilt bud. She has a very small quilt library (and budget) and I think she would be more comfortable accepting a gift I won than a gift I purchased for her.
ReplyDeleteLoved the video, thanks for giving the link. The book looks fabulous. I will have to get this one!
ReplyDeleteBill, I don't have this book yet and would really like it ~~ a LOT !
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great book, I love his very cool quilts!
ReplyDeleteA lovely review, and thrilling that he's about the art, not just the craft. Looking back at things I've sewn, it's the imperfections or rational that I feel strongest about. Looking forward to a glass of wine and this book in front of me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great introduction! I look forward to reading my copy with a post like this who can resist.
ReplyDeleteThis books looks like it is for me. Thanks for sharing and the chance to win
ReplyDeleteShawn

ReplyDeleteI love his "You Are Here" quilt! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteAdding this to the book list for the LQS that is trying to start up a Modern Quilt Group! Love the Palimpsese...quilting a vintage design on simply pieced top...cool.

ReplyDeleteThis looks like a beautiful book with meaningful quilts.
ReplyDeleteYou know most of the "modern" quilts and books just don't flip my switch...but every time I see one I like it seems to come from Thomas.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of being a part of your quilts and telling a story with them. Thomas seems to exemplify that. I can't wait to get his book and learn from him! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI would be interested to read what Thomas thinks makes a quilt meaningful. I am going to watch the video!
ReplyDeleteSuach a talented ma. Beautiful quilts, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win....I am looking forward to reading this book. I have many books but when the author shares like I understand Thomas does in this book, I get so much more from the book. I prefer to design my own quilts but looking at other quilters' work inspires me.
ReplyDeleteJust went to his website & fb pages. I am IN LOVE with his work and would really be thrilled to win his book!
ReplyDeleteAs a quilter since 1970 and a longarmer more recently it has been a fascinating journey following quilting trends. I look forward to seeing more of his work and reading his book!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to absorbing the contents of his book-- and letting them inspire my own makings.
ReplyDeleteI first read about Thomas in the fall 2011 issue of Stitch magazine. I was so inspired about how he overcame major illness to become a "stay at home" dad and and his journey from sewing dresses for his daughter to becoming a fabric designer. His quilts are awesome and so is he.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of Thomas. I keep trying to figure out a way to get him out here and to speak at PMQG. Wouldn't that be the best?!?
ReplyDeleteThank you for the introduction to this outstanding artist quilter - wow. I am thrilled to have a chance to win a copy of the book.

ReplyDeleteIt's not often I see a quilt 'project' book (as opposed to a block-type book) and really, really want it but Thomas' book is the exception!
ReplyDeleteI would like to have this book.....and of course make some of these modern simple quilts. Other bloggers email when I comment so I guess you know where to email me!!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Palimpsest was a pride flag, sheesh! Now I want to make one even more although the quilting I did would be so rudimentary it wouldn't make me nearly as happy. Thank you for the giveaway!
ReplyDeletei am anxious to get my hands on this book, the quilts seem inspiring with their back stories!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great opportunity since it's more than a quilt pattern book. Can't wait to read the stories that go along with the quilts. Thank you!
