Madge asked to see some more detail pictures and shots of the back, so here they are. You will notice the tufted ends of the cotton cord stuffing is hanging out in several places. I think Madge was saying that's a good sign, since she saw this characteristic in quilts at Winterthur. There are knots in a few places, but mostly what you see in the first picture - and not in too many places. Some of these pictures will show the stitching a little more closely. Willow Tree Quilt - The Back
Madge asked to see some more detail pictures and shots of the back, so here they are. You will notice the tufted ends of the cotton cord stuffing is hanging out in several places. I think Madge was saying that's a good sign, since she saw this characteristic in quilts at Winterthur. Thanks, Bill, from those of us who hand quilt and have stuffed and corded, this is great to see. Enlarging it was a treat, almost like seeing it in person. Almost......
