Almost time to hit the road and head over to Sisters for the 37th Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. This is my third year attending the show, and each year has been memorable. The first year I went was the 35th anniversary, and I was part of the Oregon Quilt Project booth. We fried in the sun and were totally drained by the end of the day, but during the day I met Andrea Balosky. That was worth the whole trip!

The weather should be great again, as it was last year |
There are many beautiful sights to see. The whole town of Sisters will be covered with quilts, and not to be overshadowed by the jaw-dropping display in town, the natural scenery is also spectacular. If you're in Oregon and have no plans for the weekend, drive on out - the event is free! If you're somewhere else, plan on coming next year. It's definitely worth the trip!
Yes! I hope we can meet this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI'll be at the picnic, looking for Andrea, and will be around tomorrow wearing a green RISD T-shirt.
DeleteThis show is definitely on my bucket list...enjoy! Hope your Mom has a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteWent to the picnic, spur-of-the-moment last night. Heard Andrea Balosky would be there with her friend, Caroline. Ran into Jean Wells before we got into the park, then found Andrea and Caroline and sat with them. Met Gwen Marston afterwards, saw Lori D., and several other friends. Mom got to meet all these amazing people, and she's not even a quilter! (yet)
ReplyDeleteYou must come - Sisters is an amazing experience!!
What a great show! It was nice seeing you again Bill!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you, too. My pictures of the "House of Wonky" quilt were overexposed - did you happen to get any?
DeleteYour Dear Jane quilt was killer! Mom and I are SO impressed. I have pictures of that in case you don't.
I was there and saw so many wonderful wonderful quilts too! Congrats on your many 1sts!... WOW! I loved your Wonky House... I was overwhelmed and in HEAVEN!
