| Multnomah Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in North America |
On Wesnesday, Mom and I spent our last full day together in the Gorge- the Columbia River Gorge. We thought it would be fun to go back to
Multnomah Falls, a place we visited together back when I first moved to Oregon in 1998. We've been back a few times over the years, with Dad when he was alive, and in recent years just Mom and I. It's always great. I happen to love a gray day, and that's what we got. The color in the Gorge was wonderful that day. I'll have more pictures from after lunch tomorrow, but for now, here's
Multnomah Falls.

We enjoyed lunch at Multnomah Falls Lodge, the restaurant in the upper floor of the Lodge, and ate on the terrace. She had a turkey sandwich with cranberry cream cheese, and I had the smoked salmon salad sandwich. After lunch, we found the road to Horsetail, Bridal Veil, and the Vista. More about that tomorrow. Today's blog, by the way, is my 300th posted at Wonkyworld!!
The falls are beautiful. I would love to visit there some day. Thanks for the great photos and you and your mom will have great memories.
ReplyDeleteThe funny think about Multnomah Falls is I usually don't have much patience for tourist spots, even if I'm the tourist. But Multnomah Falls is different. I like it, even though it's usually mobbed.

DeleteThat was one of my favorite Falls we visited while living in the Northwest. The hike was fun. Enjoyed seeing all the pictures and revisiting the gray day in Oregon.

DeleteSuch a beautiful spot. When I was a little girl, I wanted to live at Multnomah Falls--thought the lodge there was the prettiest place and kept a postcard from there (I still have it on my bulletin board!) was very disappointed to grow up and find they don't have overnight guests. Glad you & your mom could enjoy it--it is too bad there are always so many people there, but the dog photo is great.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cute! And I agree it would be nice if there was lodging and fewer people. It's a popular place. Usually I avoid taking pictures with other people in the frame, but this time I was amused by all the people.

In my childhood our family made many through the gorge on our way to Portland and Salem. And we made many rest stops at Multnomah Falls. This post sure makes me miss home...almost enough to make a trip back up to the northwest soon.
