Some new things should be arriving soon. There will be a handful of AAQI quilts, and a few double-knit polyester quilts for my "generation X quilts" collection. I feel a strong connection with the quilts made during the time when I was growing up. That's what "generation X quilts" is all about. The quilts and I are all products of the time, which for me really centers on the 1970s.
Three of these quilts, including this fabulous USA Map, are coming from Deborah Ursell in San Antonio, Texas. We've been corresponding with each other on Facebook, and she happened to mention she had some quilts to sell, so she shared a bunch of pictures and I found three I loved. Here are the other two.

Love, love, love! Deborah's got quite an inventory from what I understand. We met through the Facebook group for Quilts- Vintage and Antique. The group was started a couple years ago by Lynn Miller of Arizona, and it originated as a virtual quilt museum. Today, it's much more than that. It's a meeting place for people who love quilts and want to share them.
I can't wait to see all these quilts in person. Will post more pictures when they arrive.

ReplyDeleteLove these. I know what you mean by the 70s, especially polyester. Is there any other fabric that totally dates a quilt like poly does?
ReplyDeleteThis map quilt is really great, I particularly appreciate the inclusion of Canada and Mexico, and that deep blue ocean.
I can see the attraction to the middle one!
