Six, For Fun

"Fern" by Linda Rogers, Monson, Massachusetts
Since I had an extra $200 I had intended on spending on the two Andrea Balosky quilts I didn't end up getting, I thought it would be fun to order some other quilts. I went a little over $200, but no harm done! Here's what I ordered, and hopefully I got to them first.

"Sidetracked" by Mary Gilkerson, Albany, California
"Sidetracked Again" by Mary Gilkerson, Albany, California
"Force of Nature" by Sandra Lee Ellison, Richmond, California
"Insomnia #8, Fractured Memories" by Deanne Quill,  New Braunfels, Texas
"Can't Seem to Button It Right" by Maureen Supple, Littleton, Colorado
Today, I joined the "Patrons of Our Art" roster, and will soon be listed among the list of patrons on the web site. By joining this group, I'm saying that I'm going to be actively collecting these quilts for a while. So, those are my six for fun. If you're interested in donating quilts, buying, or bidding in the monthly auction of the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative, click here.

  3. I haven't heard of the Patrons program either, but I'm a Quilt-A-Month Club member and a $1000 Promise member. I'm almost up to the $1000 mark! Woohoo! I will check out the patrons now. I have 5 AAQI quilts in my collection now.

    1. Thank you, Beth! It's nice to see there are a few other collectors out there who are interested in these quilts. As I mentioned to Ami, I'd like to be prepared to have a major exhibit of these quilts in the future, with catalog, etc. So, stick around for a while. I've got a lot of buying to do!

  7. So, I'm looking at the auction quilts and find several I like. Guess who has the current high bid? WW I'm really glad that bidders can't snipe on this auction. Now, I have to decide whether to try to outbid you.
